Mariposa

The controversial subject of women’s body has always been a hot topic of debate among scholars, writers and film makers, focusing on how social and cultural norms, values and structures form the body and render its meanings. But fewer consider that personal beliefs, values and decisions are in many cases more powerful than the dominant structures; that we each create our own world through our choices, deep personal beliefs and experiences. My strong faith and passion for picturing this as a film is to create a new perspective among hundreds of standpoints towards women’s lived body experiences; a wish to contribute to the growing discourse of gender as it relates to the female body.
